Lazer Vaudeville has been touring it's theatrical production in the United States and abroad since 1987. The company was
founded by Carter Brown, who developed an interest in Vaudeville while studying theatre and art at the University of
Vermont. After touring as a clown with Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus and as a solo juggler for the Carden
International Circus, where he also designed sound and lights, Brown decided to form his own theatre show.
Lazer Vaudeville began as a duet with a 3-month tour of college shows which quickly grew into a 9-month tour of performing
arts centers taking the show from Montreal, Canada, across the United States several times and even down to Santiago,
Chili. Today the show includes 3 vaudevillians, a fire-breathing dragon and a wizard who performs magic tricks with laser
beams. In addition to Brown, whose feats include his unique bicycle hoop rolling act and rope-spinning cowboy, the cast
includes physical comedian and mask maker Jeff Taub and international juggling champion Cindy Marvell. The company now
has offices and rehearsal space in Ocala, Florida and also produces an Arts-in-Education program designed to teach school
children about the history of vaudeville and the science of laser technology. These educational performances are seen by over
60,000 students a year.
The full length theater performance has enthralled children and adults alike, bringing old fashioned vaudeville entertainment and
expertise to the TV generation. During the past season, Lazer Vaudeville performed for more than 150,000 people in theatres
across America and Canada, concluding with a 60-performance tour of southeast Asia. Recent international performances
have included rave reviews and sold-out houses at such diverse places as the Bermuda International Theatre Festival, the
Hong Kong International Children's Theatre Festival, and the Canadian Northern Children's Festival in Prince George, British
Columbia.
